Resonance

Photographed beneath a waterfall in El Yunque National Forest, Puerto Rico, this image captures a moment of complete surrender. The figure, seated in meditation with hands joined, is enveloped by the falling water until the boundaries of the body begin to dissolve. The luminous halo created by the cascade transforms a natural phenomenon into something that suggests an energy extending beyond the physical self.

Immersed within one of the oldest ecosystems in the Caribbean, the figure is no longer presented as an individual standing apart from nature, but as part of it. The photograph reflects the quieting of the ego and the experience of reconnecting with something ancient, enduring, and larger than oneself. It is an invitation to consider those rare moments when the distinction between self and world begins to disappear.
